L’Aquila
SOS Archivi was founded in 2009 by companies that participated in the rescue of the archives that went under the rubble, following the L’Aquila earthquake, to promote the prevention of accidental situations that can damage document archives and libraries and to offer, in if necessary, immediate specialist intervention in urgent situations.

becomes a member of ICA
SOS Archivi becomes a member of ICA – SOS Archivi enrolls in the International Council on Archives (ICA), joining the EURBICA group and the Section for International Organizations (SIO)
2016 September
The technical scientific committee of SOS Archivi is born
The TSC SOS Archives is born – By adhering to the new statute, SOS Archivi forms the first Technical Scientific Committee, chaired by Prof. Agostino Attanasio, for the verification and approval of activities and projects.
2017 July
SOS Archivi becomes project STORM stakeholder
SOS Archivi enters as a stakeholder in the European STORM project.
The project’s mission is to study the impact of climate change on Cultural Heritage.

SOS Archivi network is growing
SOS Archivi joins the Blue Shield Expert Network and a Memorandum of Understanding is signed with ANAI
2018 May
First cultural enhancement project
SOS Archivi completes its first project for the enhancement of an archival fund in collaboration with the Italian Touring Club, telling the story and showing the photos of Antonio Beato at the Sforzesco Castle in Milan and at the Egyptian Academy in Rome.

Workshop dedicated to the protection of cultural assets – In collaboration with Museimpresa, the first workshop dedicated to the protection of corporate cultural assets takes place

Italy won the call for ICA 2022
Thanks to the application submitted by SOS Archivi and Symposia which will also be the local committee for the 9th international congress of ICA 2022 in Rome
