Workshop “Protecting, conserving and defending Cultural Heritage”
In 2019 SOS Archivi, with the support of Museimpresa, organized the workshop “Protect, preserve and defend Cultural Heritage”, with the aim of starting a training course aimed at increasing the skills of the participants in the field of risk prevention and management and emergencies in the Cultural Heritage sector, offering insights from the legislative, technical and insurance points of view.
The course has been structured in such a way as to involve the different professionals who work closely with cultural heritage, both public and private, and who want to acquire the useful know-how so that practical operations to safeguard the heritage can be successful.
The workshop was divided into an introductory day followed by 4 focus days at the corporate structures of 3M, Prodoc, Art Defender and Enzo Hruby Foundation.

The SOS Archivi Association participated in Civil Protect 2018, the innovative information and presentation fair for all those who work in the fields of prevention, contrast and resolution of crisis and emergency cases, held in Bolzano from 23 to 25 March 2018.
To discuss the problems and solutions related to the protection of cultural heritage, SOS Archives organized the workshop “The safeguard and protection of cultural heritage. Experiences inside and outside the borders of South Tyrol “.
In the afternoon, a practical demonstration was held for the rescue of book and archival assets following flooding, conducted by the restorers Hellen Pittino and Valeria Arena, with the support of the Civil Protection Unit of Lomazzo (CO), coordinated by Gianluca Sala.

EU Project STORM, Summer School 2017
On 12 September we participated, as Stakeholders of the European STORM project, in the Summer School held at the Istituto Superiore Antincendi in Rome. The participants, from various European countries, took part in a rescue exercise of paper assets affected by water damage, in which triage, interleaving, enveloping and identification of damaged documents were carried out.
